Scripted indie Duck Soup Films has hired Kate O’Hara as its new Development Executive.

O’Hara will assist the development of high-end scripted drama and comedy and will be set the task of discovering new and emerging talent and identifying new projects.

Prior to Duck Soup, O’Hara was the iFeatures Executive at Creative England, where she was responsible for the design and running of iFeatures, the UK wide feature film development initiative. In this position, O’Hara worked across  films including Apostasy, Lady Macbeth and The Levelling. O’Hara also held a position as a Development Executive at eOne, where she worked with writers and production companies developing original programmes for international broadcast.

Established in 2015, Duck Soup Films is a collaboration between producers Libby Durdy (Made of Stone, This is England ’88), Bekki Wray Rogers (This is England ’88 & ’90, Utopia) and Jessica Holyland (This is England ’90, Building the Dream). In 2017, Fremantlemedia invested in Duck Soup Films by taking a 25% stake in the UK indie.
