The team behind audio and video podcast, Dish From Waitrose, fronted by Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett, have launched new indie, Cold Glass Productions.
Cold Glass will develop new formats and programmes for digital and OTT platforms. They will make productions that stretch across podcasting, YouTube, social channels and live events.
They will also “use their social marketing experience to build bigger, more valuable digital audiences for broadcasters, advertisers and rights holders.”
The company has three productions on the books alongside Dish From Waitrose. Cold Glass produces all social content and digital media assets for the BRIT Awards and Mercury Prize campaigns. It also produces social and digital content for BBC Radio 1, 1X, 2, 3 4, 6Music, Asian Network, and BBC Sounds. Cold Glass is also working with Angela Hartnett and her restaurant group, Murano Restaurant Group, to build her personal and professional brands across digital, social and broadcast platforms.
The company is also in development with 5 new productions due to launch over the next 18 months.
Cold Glass Productions is founded by Ben Kerr (Chief Executive Officer), Mark Rivers (Chief Creative Officer), Sam Cocker (Director of Production), and Tom Young (Director of Content). The company’s board is chaired by Barry Dudley.
The founders have worked together for the past four years leading S:E Creative Studio, a Sony Music Entertainment company. Prior to that, they were part of the management team at Somethin’ Else, the production company acquired by Sony Music Entertainment. Their individual careers span leading roles at organisations including Omnicom, BBC, Mumsnet, The Guardian, and Global.
Chair, Barry Dudley – a partner at Green Square Corporate Finance Advisory Practice – brings additional strategic, and operational expertise. Prior to Green Square, he previously served as Group COO at Naked Communications, where he spearheaded international expansion before overseeing its sale.
Ben, Mark, Sam, and Tom said: “The BBC, The BRITs and The Mercury Prize are at the heart of UK music and entertainment culture, and we’ve loved being part of the BBC and The BPI teams for the last ten years. It’s an honour that they’ve decided to continue their partnership with us in our new venture.
“When we began Dish From Waitrose with Angela and Nick 3 years ago, we had a plan that has pretty much happened. But the biggest win is the massive fun we have producing something we all love working on. So we’ve started Cold Glass to keep enjoying these productions. And to start new ones we can keep enjoying together”
