Former Britbox International chief creative officer and CEO of Kudos, Diederick Santer, has been appointed as Commissioning Editor at Sky.
He reports to Katherine Butler (Director of Commissioning, Drama) under the leadership of Meghan Lyvers (Executive Director of Original Scripted UK&I).
Meghan Lyvers said: “Diederick is a huge talent with a razor-sharp instinct for the kind of prestige, character-driven, and provocative drama we’re passionate about. His track record of producing outstanding shows and inspiring creative teams speaks for itself, and he’s already bringing fresh energy and vision to the Sky slate.”
Diederick Santer said: “I am thrilled to be working with Meghan and Katherine as Sky continues to build on their ambition for bold and exciting new shows.”
Santer joined BritBox International in 2021 to oversee all aspects of programming on the SVOD service globally, including commissioning and acquisition across all genres and for all markets outside of the UK.
Formerly CEO of Kudos, Santer oversaw programmes including the International Emmy Awards-winning Man in an Orange Shirt, Channel 4 and AMC returner Humans, International Emmy-nominated Apple Tree Yard, Gunpowder for BBC One, BBC Two’s The Boy With The Topknot, and the Sky Atlantic hit, Tin Star.
