The AI production platform set up by DNEG and Dimension alum, Cascade Studio, has teamed with bully! entertainment, the studio behind immersive experiences ranging from NASA’s First Woman XR-enabled graphic novel series, the Avatar franchise, and Jurassic World to create the trailer for Vega, a sci-fi story world.

Developed from script to finished trailer in three weeks, Vega was produced entirely within Cascade from concept development and story creation through to asset generation and editing “without moving between multiple disconnected software tools.”

The collaboration marks the first major co-production of its kind produced using Cascade since the platform’s Open Beta launch in June.

Simon Windsor, CEO and co-founder of Cascade, said: “The boundaries of innovative storytelling have always been pushed by bully! entertainment. They understand what it takes to bring great work to life, so they were a perfect partner to test Cascade’s platform.

“Cascade is built so filmmakers can scale their productions and IP. With Vega, our collaboration focused on bringing an original IP to life at production values that would normally demand far more time and money in VFX. Cascade is built with a proprietary asset-based production pipeline, meaning a world like Vega could easily scale into a series.

“Working with Joey and the bully! entertainment team reinforced something we’ve believed for a long time: AI can be a creative partner to filmmakers. It’s here to remove the production friction that gets in the way of original storytelling – not to remove the craft of human storytelling. When creative teams spend less time moving between disconnected tools and managing complex pipelines, they have more time to experiment and bring their ideas to life.”

Joey Jones, Executive Creative Director at bully! entertainment, added: “A month ago we were writing a script. Three weeks later we had a fully realised cinematic trailer. Traditionally, producing something at this level using photoreal CGI would have taken months, if not years. As a director, I can confidently say that Cascade is an empowering platform.

“One of the biggest breakthroughs for us was consistency. We could create characters, environments and props, continually reference those assets throughout production and evolve them as the story developed. Consistency is no longer a roulette wheel with Cascade.

“Being able to complete the entire project inside a single browser-based platform fundamentally changed the way we worked. The biggest benefit wasn’t simply speed, it was creative momentum. AI constantly opened up new possibilities, and those happy accidents often pushed the story in exciting new directions. And every meaningful creative decision remained in human hands.”
