Channel 5 has made two new series commissions – from STV Studios and Raise the Roof – to boost original programming in daytime.
The commissions follow the announcement of 40 episodes of Cash in the Attic last November.
Adrian Padmore, commissioning editor, non-scripted for Channel 5/Paramount+ commissioned 80 hours of The Great Auction Showdown with Paul Martin (w/t). Executive producers are Rosy Marshall-McCrae and John Redshaw for STV Studios.
While Lucy Willis, commissioning editor, non-scripted for Channel5/ Paramount+ ordered 80 hours of Holiday Home Show (w/t) from Raise the Roof Productions and Motion Content Group. Executive producers are Sarah Walmsley and Andrew Jackson at Raise The Roof Productions and Melanie Darlaston for Motion Content Group.
The Great Auction Showdown with Paul Martin will play out stripped across the week, where antique dealer, Paul Martin will go head-to-head with a rival expert as they compete to make the most at auction in a fun and competitive new format.
Filmed throughout the country, each episode will see the competing experts take part in a number of challenges, before auctioning their goods at the end of each day.
Holiday Home Show (w/t) will be presented by Amanda Lamb, with JB Gill and Sam Pinkham.Pinkham and Gill go head to head as they travel across Europe and the UK to find the best holiday rentals. This new format will showcase four holiday homes in every episode, highlighting places to stay. Every episode visits a different location, showing holiday homes and offering tips for what you can do while you’re there.
