Olivia Colman led the Brit pack of winners at this year’s Oscars with a best actress win for her role as Queen Anne in The Favourite. There were British wins also for best song, sound editing and vfx.
Song writer and producer Mark Ronson won the Academy Award for best original song for Shallow from A Star Is Born, alongside co-writers Lady Gaga, Anthony Rossomando and Andrew Wyatt.
Sound engineer Paul Massey picked up the sound mixing prize for Bohemian Rhapsody along with John Casali and Tim Cavagin.
Bohemian Rhapsody also won the best sound editing gong with John Warhurst and Nina Hartstone winning the prize.
Dneg’s Special effects supervisor Paul Lambert won his second Oscar in a row for visual effects for First Man after winning the award last year for Blade Runner 2049. DFX Supervisor Tristan Myles also accepted the award alongside Miniature Effects Supervisor Ian Hunter and Special Effects Supervisor J.D. Schwalm.
