Phil Bolland and Julian Marshall have launched audio post-production house, Sine.

Specialising in sound design and mixing for TV Commercials, Radio and Cinema, Sine will provide end to end solutions from its state-of-the-art Fitzrovia studio, in London’s Great Titchfield Street. The company has been created by founder Bolland, with Marshall as md.

Bolland is an experienced engineer who started his career at 750 MPH. Moving to Factory Studios in 2014, he subsequently worked his way to the position of head engineer. With over 15 years’ experience, his work has been recognised by the likes of Eurobest, Creative Circle, Clio’s and Ciclope; as well as awards at the Cannes Lions, British Arrows, D&AD and the LIA’s.

Alongside his sound design career Bolland is a well-established DJ and electronic music producer, who runs three successful record labels. As such, Sine will look to bridge the gap between post and music, adopting a hybrid workflow of analogue and digital technologies in their Fitzrovia studio.

Julian Marshall started his career in post-production, spending five years at boutique facility Smoke & Mirrors. In the 16 years since, Julian has worked as a producer and an ep in edit houses Final Cut, Work & tenthree. He has worked with ad directors such as Ringan Ledwidge, Tom & Walt, 32, Jonathan Glazer, and Sam Pilling on globally awarded campaigns including Ikea Beds, Department of Education Teachers, Samsung Ostrich and Audi Duel.

Bolland comments: “Through many years of working in topflight studios, it has always been my goal to open my own audio facility. Teaming up with Julian, who has years of expertise and a truly creative approach to producing, was the final piece in the puzzle.”

Marshall comments, “Phil and I are over the moon to launch Sine. Having spent my career in both post-production and offline editing, the move to audio felt like a natural next step. To be making that leap alongside one of the best sound engineers in the business is a huge privilege. We’re so excited by the team we have created already, and cannot wait to sink our teeth into some of the brilliant projects we have lined up”
