Independent production finance broker and distributor Silverlining Rights has brought together more than 14 international funding partners to coproduce Blink Films’ new documentary on King Charles, ahead of his coronation later this Spring.

My King Charles, from the producers of Diana: The Truth Behind the Interview, which made headlines worldwide and led to the Dyson Inquiry into the BBC – provides an unprecedented insight into the new King from his early years in the palace to major revelations on his playboy twenties, to his troubled first marriage, dubious brushes with politics, his role in smoothing recent royal troubles, and the future he now faces.

My King Charles (produced as a 1×60’ and 1×120’ feature documentary) is being coproduced by funding partners including Channel Nine (Australia), TVNZ, RTL Deutschland, RTL (Netherlands), TV2 (Denmark), Discovery (Italy), Movistar+ (Spain), DPG (Belgium), TVI-CNN (Portugal), ServusTV (Austria), Ceska TV (Czech Republic), and Hot8 (Israel). The feature documentary will also stream on a major US platform.

The film includes a number of exclusive, world-first interviews from those who know the King personally, which provide new revelations across his life. They include former girlfriends, close schoolfriends, life-long friends and relatives, together with former members of his private staff. Alongside the interviews, the documentary includes never-before seen and letters, together with previously unseen photographs to provide a uniquely intimate portrait of King Charles.

Bethan Corney, founder and MD, Silverlining said: “My King Charles is the first and only profile of Charles told by those close to him, with many of the contributors talking for the first time – from those who shared a classroom to girlfriends, and from lifelong friends and relatives to longstanding personal staff. Together they paint a uniquely intimate picture of the real man behind the crown, and I’m delighted it’s proving such a hit with buyers.”

Dan Chambers, Creative Director Blink Films added: “Silverlining’s partnership from discussing our initial idea through to jointly funding the development was instrumental to us getting key contributors on board, pre-sales secured and the programme into production. We are thrilled that audiences around the world will be able to watch our documentary on such a great mix of high profile, streamers and broadcasters.”

Silverlining distributes catalogue of more than1500 hours of content from many of the UK’s best producers including: Brinkworth, Yeti, Knickerbockerglory, Blink Films, 72 Films, Spun Gold, Voltage TV, Content Kings, Emporium, MSP, Ten 66, Curve, and Hidden Light. In addition, Silverlining generates its own content in partnership with producers and international broadcasters.
