BBC One has confirmed the return of The Finish Line for a third series (30×45) and will return to Belfast in early 2025 to begin filming.

The third instalment of the quiz show, which sees Roman Kemp putting contestants through their paces in a race format, accompanied by Sarah Greene, is due to air next year.

Roman Kemp said: “We’re back, and I couldn’t be more delighted to be returning to Belfast. We’re looking forward to seeing what the next round of contestants have to offer and witness some more thrilling racing action.”

Sarah Greene added: “Roman and me we love this show: the photo-finish suspense, the giggles and the heroic determination of our guests. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back for Series 3 of The Finish Line!”

Martin Scott, Executive Producer at Potato, part of ITV Studios, said: “We’ve loved being in Belfast for two series and can’t wait to return for a third. Working alongside our fantastic partners – Nice One TV, Northern Ireland Screen, Kaboom!, Blackstaff Studios, BBC Daytime – has been brilliant, and we’re thrilled to reunite the dream team Roman & Sarah to put contestants through their paces.”

Chris Jones, Founder of Nice One Productions, commented: “The Finish Line cleverly combines racing with quizzing, and its excellent to be heading back to Belfast with Potato and the wonderful Roman and Sarah.”

Alex McLeod, Commissioner for BBC Daytime, comments, I’m thrilled that The Finish Line is so popular with our audience and delighted to bring back its irresistible mix of jeopardy, nostalgia, and play-along fun for a third series. And of course, Roman and Sarah make a great team.”

In each episode, hosted by Roman and assisted by Sarah, contestants will compete across a series of qualifiers and head-to-head races for the chance to win a cash prize. The aim of the game is simple – make it to the finish line before your rivals.

The Finish Line is commissioned for BBC One and BBC iPlayer by Rob Unsworth, Head of BBC Daytime and Early Peak Commissioning, the Commissioning Editor for BBC Daytime is Alex McLeod. The Finish Line is produced with funding from Northern Ireland Screen by Potato, in partnership with Nice One Productions.
