BBC Studios has won its first commission for Sky, Danny Dyer on Pinter for Sky Arts.
The young Dyer appeared in two of Pinter’s plays and the Hackney-born playwright took the actor under his wing.
Now, as part of the Passions series of documentaries on Sky Arts, Dyer is making a film exploring the life and works of the Pinter and telling the story of their unlikely friendship.
Phil Edgar-Jones, Director, Sky Arts said: “At Sky Arts we always want to unlock the craft of artists in new and unusual ways so having Danny Dyer’s unique and personal take on Harold Pinter is a very special treat.
Rob Unsworth, Creative Director of BBC Studios’ Factual Salford unit, said “We feel very privileged to be able to explore this inspirational friendship, and are thrilled to be working with Danny Dyer and Sky Arts in telling such a fascinating story.”
Danny Dyer on Pinter is a 1×60 BBC Studios production. The executive producer for BBC Studios is Rob Unsworth and the producer is Ian Denyer. It is commissioned by Phil Edgar-Jones and Bill Hobbins for Sky Arts. It will transmit later this year.
