Following a tender process BBC Studios has retained the contract to produce Antiques Roadshow.

The tendering of returning series forms part of the BBC’s contestability requirements.

The tender was launched in June 2022 and from a field of eligible tenderers, BBC Studios’ bid scored highest against the published criteria – across editorial proposal and capability, value for money, how it delivers against the BBC’s strategic priorities, and risk.

The contract is for 18x 60’ episodes per series over two years (36 episodes in total) with delivery starting in late summer 2023. In addition to the main series, the contract also covers the delivery of Antiques Roadshow Specials.

Catherine Catton, Head of Commissioning, Factual Entertainment & Events, says: “Antiques Roadshow is loved by audiences across the UK and is at the heart of the Sunday night schedule on BBC One. This was a highly competitive bidding process and we would like to commend all the eligible producers for the high quality and comprehensive bids they put forward. In the end BBC Studios’ bid scored highest against the criteria we set and we look forward to continuing to work with them as we build on the success of the show.”
