The BBC has recommissioned Death in Paradise for a further two series and two Christmas specials, with filming commencing on the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe this week.
Consistently one of the UK’s most watched television shows, Death in Paradise is made by Red Planet Pictures for BBC iPlayer and BBC One.
The new series cast welcomes back Don Gilet (DI Mervin Wilson), Don Warrington (Commissioner Selwyn Patterson), Shantol Jackson (DS Naomi Thomas), Shaquille Ali-Yebuah (Officer Sebastian Rose), Catherine Garton (Sergeant Mattie Fletcher) and Élizabeth Bourgine (Catherine Bordey). Further guest stars and details of the cases for the new series will be announced in due course.

Viewed by audiences in 230 territories worldwide, the show has been running for the last 15 years and has spawned spinoffs including Beyond Paradise and Return to Paradise.
Death in Paradise is a Red Planet Pictures (a Fremantle Company) production for the BBC made with the support of the region of Guadeloupe, with BBC Studios handling global sales. Series 16 is executive produced by Tim Key and America Rodriguez for Red Planet Pictures and Nick Lambon for the BBC. Helen Burt will produce and Leon Lopez, Jamie Annett, Jesse Quinones and Di Patrick will direct.
