The Association of Motion Picture Sound (AMPS) has announced the 2026 nominations for its annual Excellence in Sound Awards.

Apple TV and Netflix lead this year’s nominations with three each, followed by BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5, and National Geographic/Disney+ with one nomination each.

In the Television Drama category, two episodes of Adolescence (Netflix) join Black Mirror (Netflix), Silo (Apple TV) and Slow Horses (Apple TV) among this year’s nominees.

The nominees for Excellence in Sound for a Factual Film are 7/7: The London Bombings (BBC), Andrea Bocelli: Because I Believe (Apple TV), Michael Palin in Venezuela (Channel 5), Ocean with David Attenborough (National Geographic/Disney+), and Top Guns: Inside the RAF (Channel 4), reflecting the incredible diversity of subjects in factual filmmaking.

The two Product Excellence categories showcase the growing sophistication of technology and the need for innovative tools in film and television production.

The winners will be announced on Sunday 12th April.

Earlier this year, AMPS presented its 2026 Award for Excellence in Sound for a Feature Film to F1. In 13 years of the awards AMPS has built a strong track record, with 12 of its feature film winners going on to achieve BAFTA success, and 8 gaining the Academy Award.

The AMPS Awards are supported by leading industry partners including Dolby Laboratories, Pinewood Group, Sennheiser, Deity Microphones, Raycom and Bubblebee Industries.
