BBC Studios Ceo Tim Davie and CCO Mark Linsey have announced the final tranche of appointments to the merged BBC Studios and BBC Worldwide Executive Committee, completing the company’s senior line-up.
In addition, BBC Worldwide’s content chief, Helen Jackson, has announced her departure from the company after 31 years.
Tim Davie said: “Helen’s contribution to the BBC is hard to overstate. She has had both the vision and the relationships to attract numerous producers to BBC Worldwide over many years and is rightly held in the highest regard both inside and outside the organisation.”
She will remain at BBC Studios throughout 2018, working with indie partners and continuing as a director on the board of a number of invested indies.
The merged company’s appointments consist of four genre MDs, three regional presidents and three group services roles.
The Genre MDs are Hannah Wyatt, MD for Factual Entertainment & Events; Lisa Opie, MD for Factual; Nick Betts, MD for Scripted and Suzy Lamb, MD for Entertainment & Music.
Each MD will be responsible for leading the commercial, creative and business teams within BBC Studios production, and developing and implementing the business strategy for their genre.
The Regional Presidents are Ann Sarnoff, President – Americas; Marcus Arthur, President – UK & Ireland and Australia/New Zealand and Paul Dempsey, President – Global Markets.
Each regional president will be responsible for leading content sales, branded services including joint ventures, consumer products and other commercial exploitation activities in their market.
The heads of Group Services are Charlotte Elston, Director of Communications, responsible for all communications across the new BBC Studios globally; David Moody, Director of Strategy & Business Development, leading on strategy and business development for the company and Jaclyn Lee-Joe, Chief Marketing Officer, leading global brands, brand strategy for global services, and marketing for all business and formats.
Tim Davie said: “Now that Mark and I have our full Executive Committee in place, we are looking forward to getting on with growing BBC Studios as a world-class home for British creativity.”
The appointments will take effect in April with the formation of the new company. The Executive Committee will be responsible for the day-to-day management of BBC Studios, in line with the strategy and financial plan agreed by the BBC Commercial Holdings Board.
Appointments previously announced to the new BBC Studios Executive Committee include Tim Davie, CEO; Mark Linsey, CCO; Tom Fussell, CFO; Anna Mallett, COO and MD, Production; Martyn Freeman, General Counsel and Jabbar Sardar, HR Director.
