What's it all about?
In Autumn 2009, Televisual launched the Roadshow and toured the UK with a series of FREE half-day seminars covering the production and business aspects of moving image content creation. Feedback to the Roadshows has been universally supportive with many commenting on how the content was much better and more practical than many paid-for conferences and training seminars they’d attended. The seminars are based on the principle of knowledge sharing from acknowledged leading experts in their given disciplines and include presentations from commissioners, funding and co-pro specialists, heads of production and leading technology experts. The Roadshow seminars are an invaluable way to get up to speed on what commissioners want, co-production finance and how to reign in production budgets while improving the finished look and feel of your content and also to exploit your IP. Better still ALL Televisual Roadshow seminars are FREE to attend for professionals working in production.
The core objective of the Televisual Roadshow is to help the professional production community react and embrace the new business environment. Be it the need to explore file-based workflow from the perspective of both needing to deliver better (HD) quality pictures while being mindful of the increasing pressure on production budgets that force new ways of working. At the same time the model to fund programmes has irrevocably changed with commissioners expecting the production executive to find secondary and tertiary sources to finance their proposals.
Who’s it for?
The seminars are aimed at industry professionals working in broadcast and other moving image disciplines. Delegates are expected to take a leading or defining role in delivering the production and include production company managing directors, heads of production departments, executive producers, senior producers, directors, producers and production managers. Other delegates are expected to include facilities company staff, camera and editing kit hire companies, videographers, freelance producers, directors, production managers, and senior operators.
Why you need to attend
The Roadshow is a unique event offering a wide range of business intelligence and production know how. Content includes presentations about co-production finance, production budgeting and an overview of the latest production and post-production workflows – detailing formats, products and their real world applications and benefits. If you want to get fully up to speed with current business opportunities and thinking and the wider world of broadcast production, you simply have to attend.
Our sponsors - Sony and Avid
The TV industry is one of the last to fully embrace the efficiencies and cost savings brought about by the IT revolution that has changed so many aspects of our working lives. There are good reasons for this lethargy, not least the efficient management of huge volumes of data. It is now widely acknowledged (and fully endorsed by broadcasters) that this change is inevitable and the technology in place to force the agenda. For many years now Sony and Avid have been two of the foremost technology providers to the broadcast industry and respected leaders in acquisition and editing technology solutions. They both now have the products and formats in place to fulfill the promise of tapeless, file-based production workflows that deliver better looking pictures with both time and cost efficiencies. The presentations you’ll see and hear are delivered by active broadcast professionals and include current case studies. The content of these presentations is always left to the presenters themselves – all leading industry experts - and our sponsors are happy not to interfere with their final content. Without Sony and Avid’s support the free to attend Televisual RoadShow seminars would not be possible.
