Facilities 50 2016 Back to Reports & survey Listing

Welcome to the Facilities 50, Televisual’s annual survey and showcase of the post production sector, which we’ve published every year since 1988.

Congratulations to the post houses that have landed themselves a place in the list and many thanks to all the facilities who took the time to return back very detailed, informative Facilities 50 forms. I’ve tried to include as many comments about the post sector from as broad a range of post houses as possible over the following pages. I hope you enjoy reading this year’s extensive analysis of the results.

How it works
Each year, we send survey forms out to post production houses and ask them for full details of the services they provide, how they’ve found the last year, their turnover, size, breakdown of work, the post houses they most admire and so on. Some of this information is used to rank individual post houses to create a top 50.

We also collect producer votes from our polls of producer clients. Post houses are ranked on four key factors – turnover, how much they are rated by producers, the kit and services they provide and votes from their peers in the industry. 50% of the overall ranking is based on turnover, producer votes make up 25% of the final score, 15% is for peer votes and 10% is down to kit/services.

The producer votes are pulled together from surveys published in Televisual throughout the year. For instance, during our ‘Production 100’ survey published last month we asked TV producers to name the three post houses they use the most, and the three they rate the most. We ask the same of ad producers in our ‘Commercials 30’ survey, and we ask corporate producers in our ‘Corporate 50’ survey. Votes for each post house are collated together to form their overall producer score.
