Channel 5 has commissioned Twofour to bring back Watercolour Challenge.

The 20 part order, hosted by Fern Britton, will blend the artists’ skills with tips for the amateur art lover, glorious views and a daily dose of competition.

Dan Adamson, Managing Director, Twofour, said: “Watercolour Challenge remains one of the most loved daytime titles and we’re absolutely delighted to be working with the team at C5 to bring it back for their audience. With Fern Britton hosting from some of the most beautiful parts of the country we really hope it’s as well received as the original series was.”

Guy Davies, Commissioning Editor (VP) Factual Channel 5, added: “Watercolour Challenge is a feelgood classic and it’s high time to bring it back as part of Channel 5’s strengthening of daytime. This last year has seen more of us than ever before picking up the paint brushes and getting creative”

The executive producer is Neil Edwards and Gill Hennessey is the series producer. The air date is to be confirmed.

Watercolour Challenge is produced by Twofour West in Devon, and forms part of the company’s recent slate which combines large volume factual series such as Secrets of the Supercars (10 x 60’ for Dave) and Beat the Chef (30 x 30’ for Channel 4) with high profile documentaries including Roman Kemp Our Silent Emergency (BBC Three and BBC One) and Billy Monger’s Big Red Nose Day Challenge (BBC One). Twofour is part of ITV Studios.

ITV Studios handles international distribution of Watercolour Challenge.
