HHB has installed a new sound facility at The Sonic Arts Research Centre (SARC) at Queen’s University Belfast

The stall features an Avid S6 M10 with MTRX, Dolby Atmos HE-RMU and Genelec 8040 + 1032 Sub monitoring set up.

At the centre of the new setup sits the Avid Pro Tools S6 control surface combined with Pro Tools | HD 12.8 offering comprehensive Dolby Atmos intergration.

Day to day the studios are used for a wide variety of applications including the recording of pop and classical music, electronic music production, sound design, mixing for radio and television broadcast and post production for picture.

Alongside the new immersive sound studio is the Sonic Lab, a multi-functional concert hall / research laboratory allowing playback of 3D and binaural audio across 48 high quality loudspeakers. The addition of the Dolby Atmos Mastering Suite with Dolby HE-RMU extends the functionality of the lab to provide a second place for students to render mixes in Dolby Atmos. It will also be possible to present Dolby Atmos content to an audience of up to 150 people.
