TheX Factor’s YouTube channel has notched up over 1 billion views – making it one of the most watched YouTube channel’s for a British television series.
The channel (http://www.youtube.com/thexfactoruk) was launched in 2010 and is one of only three UK channels to go through the billion views barrier. It is also in the top 50 most viewed YouTube channels in the world.
ITV director of online Julian March said: "We know our fans want to be able to access their favourite X Factor moments across multiple channels and devices and we’re thrilled that the official The X Factor YouTube channel has reached this milestone as we welcome the brand new series to our screens.”
The most watched videos on The X Factor channel include Cher Lloyd’s debut, One Direction and one of last year’s live show finalists, Janet Devlin.
Britain’s Got Talent’s YouTube channel passed the one billion mark earlier this month.
The BBC’s YouTube channel, which includes clips of shows including Doctor Who, The One Ronnie show and the Eurovision Song Contest is the fourth most popular channel, with 980m video views from its 480,000 subscribers.
