Working Title Television UK has named former Kudos exec Andrew Woodhead as its new managing director.

He replaces Juliette Howell who left last year to launch a new production company with former Film4 chief Tessa Ross.
Woodhead joins Working Title Television UK having previously been an executive producer at Kudos Film & Television where he worked on multiple series of Spooks and ITV’s Law & Order UK. He was also an executive producer on the first series of Sky Atlantic’s Fortitude and Sky 1’s Sinbad.

Woodhead also produced Abi Morgan’s single film White Girl.

Recently, he has been focusing on his own projects, which include developing an adaptation of The Man Booker prize-winning, The Luminaries (currently in development) and producing Marcella, written by Hans Rosenfeldt (The Bridge) for ITV.
Working Title Television is based in London and LA and is a joint venture between NBCUniversal International Studios, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner. The LA office is led by recently appointed President, Andrew Stearn.
Based in London, Woodhead is tasked with developing high-end scripted British programming with wide international and commercial appeal, building on the business’ existing credits: You, Me and the Apocalypse, London Spy, Birdsong and Yonderland.

As MD, he will report to Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner and NBCUniversal International Studios’ President, Michael Edelstein.

He will also work closely with the business’ Executive Vice President, Scripted Programming, JoAnn Alfano and Working Title Television LA’s MD, Stearn.
Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner said: “We are hugely committed to expanding our television business and are thrilled to have Andrew join the team in London. We look forward to working with him to create popular and ground-breaking drama – leading WTTV to even greater success.”

Woodhead added: “In this ‘golden age’ where great creative talent moves so effortlessly between film and television, I can’t think of a more perfect time to be joining this wonderful company.”
