Audio post production house, Warner Bros. De Lane Lea is moving to a brand new home in Soho after 47 years at its current Dean Street address and is significantly growing its offer with new colour grading suites among other changes.

The company, bought by Warner Brothers Studios five years ago,  is working in partnership with Soho Estates and will develop a new “world class” sound and picture post facility within Ilona Rose House, a new development currently under construction in Greek Street.

From its new address, the company will create a “cutting-edge”, 25,000 sq ft facility which will offer a wide range of creative talent and services. “This purpose-built facility, along with our world class talent, will open up a new level of creativity and client servicing for the UK post production community,” said Dan Dark, SVP and md, Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden.  “This is a rare opportunity to take a new site in the heart of Soho.”

John James, MD of Soho Estates said: “We at Soho Estates see this as a worthwhile contribution to the legacy of the film industry in Soho which, without such investment, could be lost to Soho forever.”

The new location will include four sound re-recording stages, one of which is on a scale that “rivals those operated in Hollywood.”  Additional facilities will be colour grading suites for feature films and TV, 40 picture cutting rooms and an ADR stage all complemented by client lounges and a cafe/bar.

Kim Waugh, SVP Worldwide Post Production Services, Warner Bros. Studio Facilities said: “This marks a significant growth in our business as we take this opportunity to expand our services for television and feature clients with the introduction of new colour grading facilities thus ensuring we can offer our clients a full range of post-production creative services. As we celebrate our 70th anniversary, it’s fitting that we have secured the future of the company in the heart of Soho, for many years to come.  Under the leadership of Cara Sheppard we will continue our heritage of creative excellence by attracting and retaining award winning talent.”

Philip Thompson, Investment and Development Director of Soho Estates added: “This has been a genuinely collaborative partnership and we are delighted that the resulting facility will be an exceptional addition to our portfolio.”

WBDLL is expecting to move in 2021 when Ilona Rose House opens and will continue to operate in its current location at 75 Dean Street until that time.
