Televisual is hosting a high profile Commissioning Panel, looking at Where Pop Meets Docs at this year's Media Technology Day on the 1st November at the Ham Yard Hotel in Soho.

This session, chaired by Melanie Leach, Chief Executive of the Twofour Group, will hear from four of the UK’s top commissioners to find out what they think is the sweet spot for factual. With epic fact ent formats such as The Great British Bake Off, which came out of the BBC’s documentary department, and block-buster primetime docs, there’s increased demand for noisy factual programming. But what noise do the channels want to make?

Newly appointed Head of Factual Entertainment for Channel 4 Alf Lawrie will reveal the shift of thinking at Channel 4 that underlies his brief.

Clare Sillery, the BBC’s Head of Documentary Commissioning, one of the biggest commissioning teams at the BBC, tells us how she finds something for everyone.

Hilary Rosen, Deputy Director of Commissioning at UKTV will explain why and how the network is increasing its demand for original programming.

Guy Davies, Commissioning Editor, Factual at Channel 5, who brought Rich House, Poor House to our screens, tells us the ingredients that make a great pop doc and a great schedule.
