Endemol Shine Group president Tim Hincks is to leave the company in March.

Hincks has worked at Endemol since 1999, and was named president of the newly merged Endemol Shine Group in October 2014.

Hincks said: “The last 17 years have been an incredible and exhilarating ride. Playing my part in helping build a world class content creation company across so many countries, genres and platforms has been an honour and a privilege.”

He added: “But it really is time for a new adventure. It couldn’t have been a tougher decision for me to make and I’m extremely grateful to Sophie for how understanding and helpful she has been throughout the process.”

Hincks said he wanted to leave “this brilliantly all-consuming job” before he considered what his next challenge might be. “Following my last day in the office in March I’ll take the time to consider the future and to get round to doing all the things I haven't had time to do, like remembering my children’s names for example.”

Endemol Shine Group CEO Sophie Turner Laing said: “The role Tim has played in the success of the business has simply been exceptional.  Throughout his time at the company he has combined outstanding creative leadership with a keen entrepreneurial spirit, not to mention a brilliant sense of humour and fun.

“ Though sad to be losing him I do respect his desire for fresh adventures having contributed so much to the company over so many years.  He will be greatly missed when he leaves us but will do so with all our very best wishes and heartfelt thanks.”

Endemol Shine Group said it would announced how Hincks’ responsibilities will be fulfilled in due course.

Hincks first joined Endemol in 1999 having worked on factual and current affairs programming for the BBC since 1990.

He went on to hold a number of senior management roles, initially at the Company’s UK operation.  These included Creative Director and Chief Creative Officer before his appointment as Endemol UK’s CEO in 2008, when he also joined the International Board and the Creative Board of Endemol Group.

Hincks became President of Endemol Group in 2012, responsible for overseeing the company’s operations in the US and UK, as well as content creation and commercial exploitation across the Group’s worldwide network. He was appointed President of the joint venture Endemol Shine Group in October 2014.

Hincks serves on the Corporate Advisory Board of the National Theatre and served as Executive Chair of the Edinburgh International Television Festival for five years. In June 2015 he gave the annual BAFTA Television lecture.

A number of high profile Endemol and Shine execs have left since the merger, including Endemol UK creative director David Flynn, Endemol Shine UK chairman Lucas Church, Remarkable md Colette Foster and Kudos chief exec Jane Featherstone.
