New Bristol-based startup sync licensing company Syncsmith has launched, to champion the back-catalogues of international avant-garde electronica pioneers, and provide bespoke original electronic content.

The aim of Syncsmith is to offer clients “enigmatic and emotive content”, says co-founder Gavin Mee, as a means of differentiation from the plethora of other sync licensing companies. Syncsmith will curate monthly samplers to communicate “ethereal soundscapes”. Bespoke compositions will be offered through artists Beatrice Dillon, Joe Farr, Hieroglyphic Being, ASC and Killawatt.

Labels including Auxiliary, Houndstooth, Diskotopia, Where To Now, Opal Tapes, Moods & Grooves, Power Vacuum, Debacle, Motor, Dement3d, Shipwrec, Nous Disques and Versatile Records are offering music from Syncsmith.

“As an artist working on my own productions and sound design for animation and games, partnering with Syncsmith looks like the start of a new musical adventure I’m really looking forward to,” says Syncsmith artist Joe Farr.

“We are really impressed with Syncsmith’s proposal and are very excited to work with them. We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship,” adds Rob Butterworth, head of Houndstooth Records.
