Post production house StormHD has invested £300k in an infrastructure upgrade, while securing more space at its Covent Garden premises.

The full service post production facility has taken on 2,700 square foot of extra space at its existing site, enabling it to add three offline suites, two online suites and an audio mixing studio, with a large VO booth suitable for animation and ADR recordings.

This expansion has triggered an overhaul of the technical infrastructure, with the installation of an additional 32TB Avid Unity ISIS system and a third Avid DS suite.

A new Blackmagic Design Videohub forms the centre of the video infrastructure.

Paul Ingvarsson, co-owner of StormHD says: “This expansion  includes three multipurpose grading/online suites operating Avid DS /Avid Symphony with networked rendering and installing the Blackmagic Videohub to route digital video across all areas of our facility.”

Co-owner Tim Wheeler adds: “As part of our infrastructure improvements we have also installed 1Gb fbre direct into our facility which will significantly improve our capacity to digitally deliver programmes as either tapeless files to terrestrial broadcasters or other data deliveries across the world.”

StormHD has recently completed the full post production package for BBC Arena:
