Sony's Electric Ray hires Endemol's Shaun Parry

Electric Ray, the indie set up by Karl Warner and Meredith Chambers, has appointed Shaun Parry to the new post of creative director, Entertainment.

Parry will help oversee Electric Ray’s slate of entertainment programmes as well as the producer’s development team, which is charged with creating new formats for the international market.

He will take up the role at the end of March and report directly to Warner and Chambers, the company’s managing directors.

Parry joins Electric Ray from Endemol where he was head of entertainment.

His credits include BBC hit Pointless, ITV’s The Whole 19 Yards as well as creating and executive producing a wide range of factual entertainment formats.

Parry has also held development posts at Silver River, RDF and the BBC.

Electric Ray is currently in production on BBC1 Saturday night gameshow Prized Apart and Salford Dreams United (w/t), a three part access documentary about five ex-Manchester United stars attempting to take local Salford City F.C. out of the Evostick league.

Electric Ray is a joint venture with Sony Pictures Television.
