Seven of Sony’s flagship cameras have joined Netflix’s Post Technology Alliance.

The alliance is a programme designed to let filmmakers know what equipment meets Netflix’s technical and workflow requirements.

Four digital motion picture cameras from Sony’s CineAlta range join the programme, including the full frame motion picture camera system VENICE, currently being used by James Cameron to shoot the Avatar sequels. The additional CineAlta cameras getting into Netflix´s Post Technology Alliance are the F55, the F65 and the PMW-F5.

Sony’s Super 35mm professional camcorder FS7 II as well as the live production HDC-4300 4K/HD system camera, have also joined the programme along with  4K HDR shoulder camera, the PXW-Z450.

“At Sony, our mission is to provide filmmakers with the technology they need to go make tomorrow and wow audiences across the world,” commented Sebastian Leske, Product Manager, Sony Professional Solutions Europe. “All of our cameras have been designed with the needs of modern filmmakers in mind and we are thrilled to have seven of our most popular and innovative cameras join Netflix’s Post Technology Alliance.
