Filming has wrapped at The Bottle Yard Studios on Hartswood Film’s special episode of hit BBC TV crime drama Sherlock, which has been shooting both on site and on location across Bristol since  January.

Hartswood Films went on to film at a variety of locations across Bristol and on site at The Bottle Yard, in sets that were purpose built in the Studio’s Tank House 2 space.

Bristol Film Office’s Natalie Moore said: “Every time Sherlock comes to town, their presence generates a fantastic buzz throughout the city, and we celebrate the opportunity to showcase the rich variety of iconic locations we have here in Bristol on primetime TV.”

“Striking settings like Arnos Vale Cemetery, Queen Square and King Street have so much to offer productions of this type, and look spectacular on screen.”

Sherlock is written and created by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, and inspired by the works of Arthur Conan Doyle.

The drama is produced by Sue Vertue and the executive producers are Beryl Vertue, Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat for Hartswood Films, Bethan Jones for BBC Cymru Wales and Rebecca Eaton for Masterpiece.

Other titles to base production at The Bottle Yard Studios in recent months include BBC Two drama Wolf Hall, Disney/ABC Studios’ musical comedy fairytale Galavant, upcoming BBC1 drama Poldark and ITV drama The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies.
