The September issue of Televisual is out this week.

The headline report in this month’s issue is our 25th annual Production 100 Survey, which showcases the leading independent TV producers working in the UK market.

The survey is a portrait of a sector being reshaped by the rise of streaming, a fall in budgets and the muddle of Brexit. Despite this, we report that the turnover of the top 100 indies has risen to £2.17bn, proving there is still plenty of life in the independent TV production market.

As well as ranking the top indies by turnover, we list the top indie groups, the top true indies, the biggest suppliers by genre, and we reveal the indies most respected by their peers. There is also feedback from indies about their favourite broadcasters and distributors to deal with.

Elsewhere in the magazine there is an in-depth documentary report, which reveals how the era of Trump and Brexit is proving a fertile one for documentary makers to explore.

We also focus on the art of restoration, showing how to take dusty and damaged cinema classics and return them to the state their original creators first intended.

And there is an interview with Friends creators David Crane and Jeffrey Klarik, plus a preview of this month’s Amsterdam kit show IBC.
