Rushes director of colour grading Simone Grattarola has left the company after over eight years to join vfx company Time Based Arts as head of colour grading.

Grattarola, who came equal sixth in Televisual’s annual ranking of the UK’s best commercials colourists, will help establish a new colour grading department at the East London vfx company.

One of London's top colourists, Grattarola is well known for both his commercials and TV work.

He received a Bafta nomination for Peaky Blinders and graded the much admired TV biopic on the life on Neil Baldwin Marvellous.

Recent commercials work includes Compare the Market Homeland, Hercules & Love Affair Do You Feel the Same, War Book, Made in the Royal Navy Born in Carlisle, Black Mirror White Christmas, Last Night in Paris Pure and Honda Civic Type-R Disruption.

He won a UK Music Video Award in 2010 for his work on Biffy Clyro's God & Satan.

Time Based Arts was set up six years ago by Flame artists James Allen and Mike Skrgatic, and has grown into one of London's leading vfx studios.
