Drama indie Red Planet Pictures has optioned bestselling literary thriller, Our House, by Louise Candlish, recently shortlisted for the Book of the Year (Crime & Thriller) at the British Book Awards.
Red Planet Pictures won the book after a hotly contested auction for the TV rights in a deal closed by Luke Speed at Curtis Brown Group.
The novel has sold over 200,000 copies and Red Planet is working with BAFTA award-winning writer, Simon Ashdown (Funland, EastEnders) on developing a TV adaptation.
OUR HOUSE, published in the UK by Simon & Schuster and in the US by Berkley, Penguin Random House, is a #1 bestseller in paperback, ebook and audio – and celebrated as Book of the Year 2018 by the Daily Mail, Guardian, Washington Post, Publishers Weekly, Red and Heat.
In the novel, Fi Lawson arrives home one day to find a family of strangers moving into her house and her husband, Bram, has disappeared. As the nightmare takes grip, both Bram and Fi try to make sense of the events that led to a devastating crime and how they each are going to survive the chilling truth.
