Rapid Pictures has posted BBC4 feature length documentary The Aviatrix.

Produced by Nylon Films the 58 minute film, to be shown on Tuesday, 17 March,
tells the story of aviator Tracey Curtis Taylor, who sets out in a vintage bi-plane to follow in the footsteps of Lady Mary Heath.

Heath was the first person to fly solo from Cape Town to London.

The film captures African scenery and the challenge which Taylor experienced.

Live action footage was augmented by archive footage of early female pilots including Lady Mary Heath, edited together in Avid with Rapid Pictures’ colourist Matt Eversfield grading in Nucoda,

Eversfield also onlined in Avid Symphony Nitris with audio mix by Matt Cheney.

The film was executive produced by Paul Crompton, produced by Helen Morrell with Annette Porter as producer/director.
