Radiohead's drummer Philip Selway has teamed up with Northern Film & Media, his record label Bella Union and Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival, to offer budding filmmakers £4,000 to make the pop promo for his track It Will End in Tears.
Those interested in taking part first have to produce a one to two minute "DIY music video or visual showreel" inspired by Selway’s track Coming up for Air. Five filmmakers will then be shortlisted and be interviewed by representatives from Northern Film & Media, Berwick Film & Media Arts Festval and Philip Selway himself. The winner from these interviews will then be given £4,000 to make the official music video for ‘It Will End in Tears’.
The prize stipulates that the pop promo has to be shot in Northumberland and use crew and other supporting services from the area. The final film will be premiered at a live showcase event featuring a performance from Selway on Saturday 20th September at Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival.
