Rachel Job, the former director of programming at History channel, has joined Silverlining, the UK based production-financing and distribution company led by Bethan Corney.

Job joins in the newly created role of Director of Acquisitions, responsible for sourcing content for the distribution business, while working alongside Corney to broker co-production deals and secure pre-sales within the UK and internationally.

Job spent nearly ten years at A+E Networks UK, overseeing both History and H2 channels across the UK and EMEA territories.

During her tenure, she commissioned and acquired numerous hours of content including Mud Men with Johnny Vaughan, Shaun Ryder on UFOs, Sean Bean on Waterloo, Ronnie O’Sullivan’s American Hustle and local formats, Pawn Stars UK and Pawn Stars SA. Prior to History, she was Head of Acquisitions and Marketing at indie 3DD.

“Rachel is a class act with an instinct for what rates internationally, having commissioned and co-produced hundreds of hours of programmes from docu-dramas and formats to talent-led specials and returnable series. I’m looking forward to us growing Silverlining together and extending the range of production finance and editorial services that we offer producers,” said Corney, MD of Silverlining.

Previously a Factual Commissioning Editor at Channel 5, Corney set up Silverlining in 2012 to raise finance for non-scripted programmes.

In 2015, she expanded Silverlining’s offering to also include distribution agency services, and currently represents over 400 hours of  factual programmes.
