BBC Daytime has commissioned Spun Gold to make a new 20-part cookery series with Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood, entitled Paul Hollywood’s Pies And Puds.

Each of the 45-minute shows will see Hollywood cook three recipes. He’ll produce a signature pie and a signature pudding as well as creating another dish inspired by a guest expert.

Hollywood will also look at traditional local recipes from different parts of the UK and the stories and heritage behind them. The people he meets on his travels will also join Paul in the kitchen to watch him bake their recipe.

The US version of The Great British Bake Off, featuring Hollywood as a judge, was axed by CBS after one series. Hollywood has been the subject of much recent press attention after leaving his wife earlier this year, amid speculation about his relationship with co-judge on the US show Marcela Valladolid.

Damien Kavanagh, head of BBC Daytime, said: “Paul is much loved by BBC audiences and his new series will be a real treat for Daytime viewers.”

Paul Hollywood’s Pies And Puds (20x45-minutes) was commissioned for BBC Daytime by Gerard Melling. The executive producer is Chris Kelly and the series producer is Dunk Barnes. The series will air on BBC One later this year.
