Nutopia announces features and development hires

Nutopia has hired Katie Boyd and Simon Willgoss to join the features and development team respectively.
Katie Boyd, formerly senior commissioning editor at London Live, will join Nutopia to take up the role of executive producer.  A former features commissioning editor at Channel 4, she was responsible for a range of titles including Superscrimpers, Sarah Beeny’s Double Your House for Half the Money, Embarrassing Bodies and Mr Drew’s School for Boys.
Simon Willgoss will be returning to Nutopia to take up the role of head of development.  Simon is joining from CB Films, where as head of development, he helped win their first Channel 4 series.  Previous development credits include The British for Sky Atlantic, How We Invented The World for Discovery and The 80s: The Decade That Made Us for Nat Geo.
In addition Lee McNulty is promoted from his current role as Nutopia’s deputy head of development to in-house producer.  Lee was formerly a story producer on The 80’s The Decade That Made Us and Mankind: The Story of All of Us for Nutopia.   Other credits include head of research for Wall To Wall Media’s Who Do You Think You Are? and producer of the first series of The Great British Bake Off for Love Productions.
Jane Root, Nutopia CEO said: “This is a hugely exciting time for Nutopia with many new commissions appearing on screen over the next year.  It’s great to have such a talented team in place, who I know will bring fantastic ideas and experience to Nutopia, I am looking forward to working with them all.”
Nutopia’s latest production How We Got To Now (pictured) is currently on air on PBS, fronted by author and innovation expert Steven Johnson. The series explores the power and legacy of great ideas and will tx on BBC, early 2015.
