Noel Edmonds fronts Endemol pilot for BBC One

The BBC and Endemol have confirmed that Noel Edmonds is hosting a pilot, The Bodyguard, which could see the return of the presenter to BBC One in a prime-time Saturday night slot.

The show features members of the public teaming up with celebrities to compete for the title ‘Ultimate Bodyguard’.

In the last few years, Edmonds has had success with Deal or No Deal, also produced by Endemol for Channel 4. If The Bodyguard is commissioned as a series it would see Edmonds  hosting his first series on the BBC since Noel’s House Party, which finished in 1999.

The pilot is being recorded at Elstree Studios and will not be for broadcast.
