McLure & Dear promoted to senior vice presidents at Pioneer

Pioneer Productions has promoted Kirstie McLure and Jeremy Dear to head up the company as it looks to expand in the US and internationally.

Stuart Carter, Pioneer’s founder and current managing director, becomes chairman. He will continue to oversee the strategic development of the company.

Kirstie McLure is promoted from head of production to become senior vice president and managing director at the indie, whose slate includes over 700 hours of adventure, science and technology, docu-drama, lifestyle, current affairs and history programming. McLure has worked at Pioneer for over 18 years, across hundreds of hours of programming including series In the Womb, Raging Planet and most recently has spearheaded the company’s move into 3D with Storm City (pictured).

Jeremy Dear is promoted from head of development to become senior vice president and head of Factual, leading the company alongside McLure. During his nine-year tenure at Pioneer, Dear has been instrumental in driving the indie’s  growth in the US and international markets. He has led the drive into new areas of programming, as well as producing landmark series such as Christianity: A History for the company.

Leonora Chao is also being promoted from business affairs executive to business affairs manager, whilst Nikki Tilley takes over as head of production.
