Native, the music supervision and composition arm of Soho-based audio facility Jungle, has hired business development consultant Rachel Menzies.

Menzies, who has over 10 years’ experience working within the music publishing, will be tasked with business development and music supervision at the company.

Native creative director Dan Neale, said: “Rachel’s in-depth knowledge of music rights issues, musical genres and how to take a brief properly are second to none, and we’re really looking forward to working with her.”

Menzies began her career at West One Music, where she helped grow the company into one of the biggest independent production music companies in the world.

Menzies has worked regularly with clients including the BBC, BSkyB, Discovery Channel, Fox, Disney and MTV as well as brands such as Coca-Cola, Heineken, Volkswagen, Amazon, British Airways, Ferrari and BP.

She has placed music in productions such as Game of Thrones, Top Gear, Doctor Who, The X Factor and Family Guy.

Menzies has been consulting since 2014 and will retain her position as director of Hookline, which places independent artist’s music in media productions.

In a separate move, Jungle has upgraded its cinema suite in Wardour Street, installing the first Genelec 1238A tri-amplified SAM monitor system in the UK.

The monitor installation complements its 24 fader Fairlight console with mixer set technology.

Supplied by Source Distribution via Bournemouth-based retailer Absolute Music, the system was calibrated using Auto Cal by Source’s Andy Bensley in conjunction with Dolby.
