Red Arrow Studios has promoted James Baker to the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately.

He will continue to report to Jan Frouman, Chairman & CEO of Red Arrow Studios, and be based in London.

In his new role, Baker will be responsible for “optimising operational performance across Red Arrow’s production and distribution divisions, and directly managing select production territories and portfolio assets.”

Jan Frouman, Chairman & CEO of Red Arrow Studios, said: “James is the consummate group player. Over and above being well-liked and respected, he is constantly thinking about how we can operate better and smarter. And he’s never afraid to challenge the organization or shake up existing operating models. He’s ideal for the COO role at this time of accelerated activity for the group.”

Baker joined Red Arrow in 2011, and has held positions including President of Red Arrow Studios’ production portfolio and Managing Director of Red Arrow Entertainment UK. He joined the management board of Red Arrow in 2015.

Prior to that, he spent 11 years at Sky, including two stints as Controller of Sky One and finally as Managing Director, Networked Media. After leaving Sky in 2007, he worked with media private equity group Fleming Media before joining Current TV, Al Gore’s ground-breaking web and TV network as UK General Manager.
