ITV is reported to be in talks to acquire the television arm of The Weinstein Co in a deal said to be worth up to $950m.

The Weinstein Co television arm is behind reality show Project Runway, along with Marco Polo for Netflix and the upcoming BBC co-production War and Peace.

The Weinstein Co, whose film credits include Oscar winner The Imitation Game, has diversified into television in recent years.

The deal, if completed, would include an upfront payment of up to $400m, with further payments based on future growth.

ITV has been on a buying spree in recent years, acquiring production companies including John de Mol’s Talpa Media, Leftfield Entertainment, Gurney Prods, The Garden and Big Talk.
