ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE) has signed a multi year content deal with the new international subscription video-on-demand service Cirkus that will launch later this year.

ITVS GE will be a major content provider, supplying hundreds of hours of programming, initially focusing on drama but including other genres. Titles will include ITV Studios’ Lewis, Appropriate Adult, Poirot, Vera, Prime Suspect and Blue Murder, as well as third party acquisitions such as Case Histories, Touching Evil and Above Suspicion.

Cirkus is a subscription video-on-demand service that offers British television programmes for use by international Pay TV operators. It will launch initially in Scandinavia and has been created by the content consultancy, Content&Co, in collaboration with Ostmodern, the UK’s leading digital product design studio and media lawyers Wiggin.

For Cirkus, Mark Bradford says, "Incumbent Pay TV platform operators everywhere are looking for strong new services to bundle into their top-tier pay TV packs to deliver more value to these subscribers. In particular, they are looking to address the imbalance between their linear and on-demand offerings bringing them more in-line with increased viewer demand for on-demand access. Our deal with ITVS GE gives Cirkus on-going access to both the cream of its newest TV series as well as its well-known, iconic titles. It will help ensure that Cirkus is always fresh and distinctive.”
