His other credits include acclaimed TV drama series State of Play and Sex Traffic.

Writer/ director John Lasseter, the chief creative officer at Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios, received the Award for Worldwide Contribution to Filmed Entertainment.

"John Lasseter and David Yates are master creators of joy and imagination," said Nigel Lythgoe, chairman of BAFTA Los Angeles. “Their high standard of art, perception and pure entertainment is unparalleled. The worldwide success of Mr. Lasseter for Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios and Mr. Yates' contribution to the final four parts of the Harry Potter franchise makes them global wizards in their own right, and are delighted to honor these remarkable filmmakers with this year's Britannia Award."

Legendary actor and filmmaker Warren Beatty was honoured with the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film.

"Warren Beatty is an undisputed film icon who, during nearly a half-century, has created a body of work that transcends trends and remains timeless," said Lythgoe. "He is a powerful and original creative force, both in front and behind the camera, and it is our distinct pleasure to honor and celebrate his immense talents."
