Former Company Pictures exec launches new drama indie

Helen Flint, former head of Production at Company Pictures, has formed film and TV drama indie Little Island Productions.

Alex Protherough, Flint’s deputy at Company Pictures has also joined LIP’s as prduction executive. The new company will produce a slate of scripted drama for the UK domestic and global markets, with several projects already lined up.

At Company Pictures, Flint ran a diverse slate of drama production including Shameless and Generation Kill, as well as executive producing the Martina Cole titles Runaway and The Take. She received a Golden Globe for the HBO/Channel Four film Longford. Flint started her career at Granada Television as an assistant director and progressed though the independent sector as a line producer and producer.
 
Flint and Protherough have also formed a production services arm within LIP’s offering a facility for international and UK domestic companies seeking to benefit from the new UK television tax credit.
