BBC Studios and Post Production (BBC S&PP) is to begin marketing its refurbished Television Centre studios to potential clients this summer/autumn.

Three studios are set to reopen at the BBC’s former HQ in spring 2017; bookings will start being taken later this year.

BBC S&PP opened up the studios for a preview event for potential clients last week.

Building work is still very much underway on the site, but areas such as green rooms, star dressing rooms, a central meeting space (pictured above) and edit suites have been completed. The technical fit out is yet to take place; specs will be agreed in late 2016.

The studio incorporates four floors of space, including three studios: TC1 (10,250 sq ft), TC2 (3,500 sq ft) and TC3 (8,000 sq ft).

The lower ground floor now accommodates four ‘super star’ dressing rooms (pictured above), four group dressing rooms and 37 star (pictured top) and standard dressing rooms. There are also two large green rooms, a large runners kitchen and a laundry.

Post production facilities are also on the lower ground floor, with five permanent edit suites plus additional rooms on the same corridor that can house edit facilities (pictured below).

The first floor houses four large production offices, plus galleries onto each studio. The technical fit out of the galleries will take place in in late 2017/early 2017. BBC S&PP said the very latest technology will be installed, and that it is monitoring advances UHD/4K and IP connectivity.

There is more office space on the second floor, as well as meeting rooms.

BBC S&PP is also set to rebrand from April this year to avoid confusion with the proposed BBC Studios production division.

The BBC moved out of TVC in 2013 after the site was acquired by property developer Stanhope.
