Endemol wins company of year at CDN Awards

Endemol has won company of the year award at this year's Creative Diversity Network Awards.

The awards were presented at a ceremony held at MediaCityUK in Salford. They were introduced by Mark Thompson, BBC director general and chair of the Creative Diversity Network.

Raw Television won the Diversity Innovation Award for C4 show Battlefront (pictured)which follows the stories of young campaigners. Best Comedy and Entertainment Programme went to Talkback Thames for C4's Phone Shop. Mentorn Media won Best Nations and Regions Portrayal with Fish Town for Sky Atlantic HD.

Other winners included Luther and Panorama's Undercover Care: The Abuse Exposed. The Community Initiative award went to Company Pictures and Skins.

Clive Jones, the founder of the CDN, received the CDN Fellowship.

Mark Thompson, said: “The challenges that the BBC is facing - representation, portrayal, a more diverse workforce - are shared by all members of the CDN. Tonight's winners show just how much our industry can achieve when we get it right.”
