Nick Emmerson has launched new indie Koska with a minority investment from ITV Studios.

Emmerson, the former managing director of Warner Brothers TV Production UK and co-creator of Supernanny, will lead the start-up as Chief Executive Officer. Koska will focus on returnable non-scripted series.

He will be joined at the Brighton based indie by Director of Entertainment David Phillips, a former TV Board Director of talent agency James Grant.

Mike Beale, Managing Director, ITV Studios Global Creative Network will sit on the Koska Board.

ITV Studios Global Entertainment will be Koska’s distribution partner for all original formats created under their banner.

Julian Bellamy, Managing Director, ITV Studios said: “Nick is a fantastic creative talent as well as being a very successful business leader. We’re very glad to play a part in this new venture and look forward to watching Koska thrive under Nick and David’s expertise.”

Emmerson added: “I’m buzzing that Koska is open for business. I want Koska to be a truly creative and entrepreneurial place to be. There’s nothing I like better than building a team that thrives together. David is a fantastic first signing for us.”
