Princess Productions managing director Emma Hardy is to step down this summer after more than 20 years with the company.

Hardy will continue to oversee the current slate of Princess shows and projects during a 6 month handover.  Princess’s parent company, Endemol Shine UK, said that succession plans will be announced in due course.

Hardy joined Princess Productions in 1996 becoming Joint Managing Director in early 2014.

She has been involved in a raft of formats across genres including Sunday Night Project, Got to Dance, The Wright Stuff and Sunday Brunch.

In her years at Princess, she also helped to launch the TV careers of talent including Dermot O’Leary, Mel & Sue, Steve Jones, and Nick Grimshaw.

Last year the company was commissioned by Channel 4 to produce its Stand Up to Cancer event which raised £15.7m – its biggest ever total and prime time ITV entertainment show, Steal the Show.

Hardy said; “I have loved my time at Princess and feel incredibly lucky to have worked with so many brilliant and talented people. It’s very important to me that a handover is seamless ensuring Princess continues to go from strength to strength.”

Richard Johnston, CEO of Endemol Shine UK said; “Emma is a brilliant and passionate leader who has an extraordinary ability to move seamlessly between genres and platforms with an instinctive feel for what audiences want. She has nurtured shows and talent alike, making Princess a fantastic place to both work and work with. We will miss her a great deal but happily we have several months more of her leadership before we have to say goodbye.”

Conor Baily was appointed Joint Managing Director alongside Emma Hardy in 2014 having previously been the company’s Finance Director.

It was announced at the end of last year that he would be leaving the company in February 2017.
