Sony Pictures Television-backed Electric Ray has announced that Anna Curtin is joining its senior creative team as Head of Development.

She will oversee the implementation of a new creative development team at the company as it establishes a new HQ in Brighton, with a renewed focus on nations and regions production.

Curtin joins from three years at MultiStory Media where she devised and developed programmes across multiple genres including All Star Musicals (ITV), My Millionaire Migrant Boss (Channel 4), Britain’s Best Junior Doctors (BBC Two), Katie Price: My Crazy Life (Quest Red), and the 60 Minute Makeover reboot (TLC) fronted by Peter Andre.

Joining her new development team is Craig Smith, who joins Electric Ray from Betty, and has developed projects commissioned by BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Three, ITV, Channel 4, Sky, Discovery, History and Red Bull. Key credits include: Gone To Pot: American Road Trip, Bear’s Mission With… Gareth Southgate, and Ed Stafford: Left For Dead

Meredith Chambers, Managing Director, Electric Ray, says: “The breadth of experience, talent and energy that Anna and Craig will bring to Electric Ray is tremendously exciting.  And if having a boxfresh development team wasn’t enough we’ll be doing it all in Brighton in our new HQ (just near where I live).  I can’t think of a better way to start the new year and take the company to the next level.”

Anna Curtin added “I’m very excited to join Electric Ray which is a company I’ve long admired and has a great reputation as an exciting place to work in the industry. Relocating to Brighton and creating a new development team is an incredible opportunity and the perfect way to start the new year!”

Both Curtin and Smith started at Electric Ray this week.
