Warner Bros' Shed Media Group has hired John Griffin to lead a new scripted division, Headstrong Pictures.

Griffin, who will be managing director, was most recently executive producer at Company Pictures where he was responsible for The White Queen, The Village, Skins, Wild at Heart and Shameless.

At Headstrong Pictures, Griffin will be responsible for pulling Shed Media's drama resource under one roof to develop new shows and, over time, house the Group's current slate of drama including BBC One's New Tricks and continuing drama Waterloo Road.

Joining Griffin will be Johann Knobel, producer of The Shadow Line, Secret State, Shameless and the upcoming Channel 4 drama New Worlds, who becomes the division's new creative director.

Eleanor Moran, currently head of drama at Shed Media's Twenty Twenty Television and executive producer of the Suranne Jones vehicle, Lawless, will move over to be head of drama.
The founders of Shed Productions, Eileen Gallagher, Brian Park and Ann McManus, will carry on developing new shows for the Group, both in the UK and the US, but relinquish their executive responsibilities.

Wall to Wall will continue to develop and produce mini-series, factually based dramas and single films, such as The Girl. It will also continue its joint venture with GreenAcre Films.
